For 22 years, Chef Daniel Romero Montano has been offering a menu using fresh and locally sourced ingredients and has perfected it using various recipes that will satisfy your appetite. Offering a breakfast that will satisfy your appetite beyond just being hungry, a lunch that will have you coming back for more, to a dinner that will excite & transform your expectations of food, confirming that this is a restaurant offering a quality of preparation & service which gives pleasure & satisfaction to its customers. Continuing his 18-year role as Head Chef, Daniel has now taken over ownership of the restaurant, carrying on the tradition of hearty & satisfying food started in 1998 by an Australian transplant who bought with her a love of quality coffee & food. An extensive array of in-house baked goods complements the menu & includes scones, muffins, turnovers, cookies, doughnuts, breakfast biscuits, Cornish pasties & Focaccia bread, all the lunch sandwiches and gluten-free options are available. Each house coffee is individually made using the pour-over method, using French Roast beans imparts a strong, flavorful brew. The Baristas will create all the popular Espresso drinks or your favorite combination.
NOTE: Consuming raw or undercooked meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish, or eggs may increase your risk of foodborne illness. We use clarified butter and margarine mix in all pan-fried food. Ask your server if an alternative is needed for a custom-made meal.

We have a rich history on the bayfront in Newport. Our restaurant is located in a turn-of-the-century cottage that has quite a story. In 1932, the house was barged on a slow down the Yaquina River, from the town of Yaquina to Newport, where it was rolled on logs up to its present site overlooking the fishing fleet of Newport. The owners of the original home were the Chappel family and they owned the home until it was relocated to its current place among the waterfront amid the sound of sea birds, sea lions, and the smell of fresh sea air.
In 1999, the cottage was turned into a cozy restaurant offering traditional Australian fare from the original owners, the Judy Lingham family, natives of Australia. The owner sold the restaurant to lead chef, Daniel Montano in 2019 and it has continued the tradition of being a family-owned and operated business. They are proud of winning "Certificate of Excellence" Trip Advisor awards for many consecutive years.
